Introduction
The system data source allows users that have appropriate role to report on Explore Analytics object such as views, dashboards, users, jobs, email log, and event log. Access to the System Data Source
The system data source is found in the list of data sources and is available to admin users. To grant access to this data source to non-admin users, you’ll need to grant them the “TENANT_SYSTEM_EXPLORER” role. This would allow the user to explore the data without granting them admin access.
Another way of granting access is to create a view and then share or publish it. Other users would then be able to use the view to see the data.
Tables
The System Data Source consists of the following tables:
Dashboard
This table lists all the dashboards for all the users in your account, including published dashboards.
Dashboard Scheduled Task
This table lists the scheduled dashboards. These are scheduled jobs that generate and publish dashboards. The list includes all the dashboard jobs for all the users in your account.
Email Log
This table lists emails that were sent by scheduled tasks in your account.
Email Recipient
This table lists email recipients and their email preference for various scheduled tasks that may send them email.
Event Log
This table lists system events that are logged for auditing purposes. This includes login events and actions such as deleting views.
Job
This table lists all the jobs in your account and their status. A more useful view of scheduled tasks can be obtains using one of the following tables: Dashboard Scheduled Task, View Schedule Task, View Track Trend Task.
Preference
This table lists system and user preferences for your account.
User
This table lists all the users in your account including deactivated users and service account users (used by the agent). Deactivated users and service account users do not count towards your subscription user limit.
User Attributes
This table lists user attributes that are used in the process of user single sign-on.
User Has Role
This table lists roles that were directly granted to users.
View
This table lists all the views for all the users in your account, including published views. You can also see input views that are part of a composite, mashup, or scorecard view.
View Scheduled Task
This table lists the scheduled views. These are scheduled jobs that generate and publish views. The list includes all the view jobs for all the users in your account.
View Track Trend Task
This table lists the scheduled track trend tasks. These are scheduled jobs that collect trend data and store it in a trend table. The list includes all the trend jobs for all the users in your account.
Common Fields
The following fields exist in ever system table
Created
The date and time that the object was created. The time zone is EST.
Created By
The user-id of the user who create the object.
Id
The universally unique id of this object. For example, for a view, this is the id of the view. You can use this id to access or lookup the view.
Updated
The date and time that the object was last updated. The time zone is EST.
Updated By
The user-id of the user who most-recently updated the object.
